This event is hosted by the @shaunhornegallery, to be held at the beautiful Crested Butte Center for the Arts. Offering over an estimated 150 paintings for sale from the artist's studio as well as works created outdoors on location. There will be a Patron's Preview on Fri., Aug.1 and the public opening on Sat., Aug.2. The exhibition will close Aug.31, 2025. Landscape paintings will be featured from the Colorado Rockies, including many new works from the Crested Butte area. This highly anticipated exhibition and sale will be the largest held by PAPA in many years.
Plein Air Painters of America (PAPA) is the original and premier landscape painting artist group in the United States. PAPA's Catalina, CA shows beginning in 1986 signaled an American return to referential painting. PAPA membership is by invitation only and limited to approximately 45 well-known, highly accomplished members. Many Members will be in attendance opening weekend. In addition to the exhibition and sale, many members will also participate in a sale of their field works from recent trips to Crested Butte and the week leading up to the show opening.
